Nanjing Agricultural University

Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) is recruiting 41 international students, including 5 for Sino-American Youth Communication Scholarship Program, who wish to enroll into any postgraduate program at NAU commencing in the academic year of 2014/2015. The successful applicants will be offered the Chinese Government Full Scholarships covering the duration of their postgraduate program.

1. Duration of Scholarships

For Master programs:  2-3 academic years

For Doctoral programs: 3-4 academic years

2. Eligibility

1) Applicants for a Master program must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and be under the age of 35.

2) Applicants for a Doctoral program must hold a Master’s Degree and be under the age of 40.

3) Applicants should be proficient in Chinese or English and be able to take courses and thesis in Chinese or English. Applicants need to pass Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) level 4 or English IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 70.

3. Details of the Scholarship

Waiver of registration fees, tuition fees, fees for laboratory experiment, fees for internship, and charges for basic learning materials and accommodation on campus.

Living allowance:

For Master candidates: RMB 1,700 Yuan per month

For Doctor candidates: RMB 2,000 Yuan per month

One-off settlement subsidy:  RMB 1,500 Yuan upon arrival in China.

Fees for outpatient medical service and Comprehensive Medical Insurance for International Students in China;

Note:  International airfares and domestic travel expenses are borne by students themselves.

4. Application Materials

The applicants must fill in and provide the following materials truly and correctly (in duplicate). 

1) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (printed by CSC), completed in Chinese or in English. It can be downloaded from the attachment of this document.

2) Highest diploma (  notarized photocopy) . If applicants are university students or already employed, they shall also provide studying certificates or employment documents. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

3) Notarized transcripts of studies. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

4) A study or research plan (at least 800 words) in Chinese or in English.

5) Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.

6) Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (printed by Chinese quarantine authority and only for those whose period of studies in China exceeds six months) filled in English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. The medical examination results are valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration while determining the time to take medical examination.

7) The results of TOEFL, IELTS or HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test), or English and Chinese proficiency certificates.

Application materials will not be returned regardless of the result of application.

5. Application Procedures and deadline

To make the online application for Chinese Government Scholarship through the website of CSC, fill up the Application Form, submit the completed Application Form and get a series number online and print the Application Form according to the requirements; Please note that the "Agency No." of Nanjing Agricultural University is 10307.

The above materials should reach Nanjing Agricultural University by March 30th 2014 by EMS or Email. Letters of Admission will be mailed out to the successful applicants before July 30th 2014. The enrolment time will be between September 1st -5th 2014.
